Summary

 

It is a challenge to analyze the dynamics of the expansion of this sector with all its myriad forms and the intensity and extent of the issues that it raises about urban life, human rights in neo-liberal times, labor market institutions, practices, and working conditions, social security and welfare, democratic participation and representation, and the shaping of a new Urban in India. This international and interdisciplinary workshop serves as opportunity to bring together interdisciplinary scholars, policymakers, and activists to explore these themes.
